Celebrate Lunar New Year 2019! Going on now through February 18. Enjoy some family fun at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Park visitors can celebrate the Year of the Pig with activities and live entertainment in which the audience gets to play a huge part, from story telling to a Kung Fu lesson. This was so much fun to watch, and an amazing time for the kids.
Chinese decorations covered the Universal Plaza beautifully as guest were able to enjoy a drawing lesson and make New Years wishes, as well as a meet and greet with many favorite Universal characters such as Hello Kitty, Po and Tigress from Kung Fu Panda, Transformer hero Megatron and those adorably silly Minions we all love so much. If that’s not enough, well then let’s talk food!
During the Lunar New Year event many locations around the park will be serving a variety of specialty dishes dedicated to the Chinese holiday, food like Teriyaki Turkey Legs, Vegan Bahn Mi sandwiches and many many desserts such as Chocolate Matcha Cupcakes and Ginger Fortune Cookie Cheesecakes, along with many more interesting snacks like Green Tea Churros and Lunar popcorn. Unfortunately we didn’t get to experience everything, but we did have the pleasure of eating at Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop where we indulged in the Secret Ingredient Stir Fry Noodles with vegetables and the Oogway Egg Rolls. I enjoyed every savory bite, this was so delicious and definitely recommended. We can’t wait to go back and try more, perhaps Po’s Dumplings this time. There is so much fun all around, you will want to bring the family out and experience this for yourselves. Remember Lunar New Year will be celebrated at Universal Studios Hollywood until February 18, so hurry up and don’t miss out!
