California Focus RECAP: Once Upon A Time In The LBC - Queen Mary

Die hard fans were fighting extreme summer heat this past weekend, all for the love of the LBC The Queen Mary’s water front held yet another great event brought to us by GoldenVoice, Bobby Dee presents and Uncle Snoops Army and FKOA. The sold out, Saturday and Sunday lineup consisted of many talented performers from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Warren G, and Too $hort, to entertainment such as Zapp, Lisa Lisa, Kieth Sweat and so many more.

Much of the music that filled the festival grounds along with the all out atmosphere had many of us feeling nostalgic as hell. There was a tunnel running

between stages, which was adorned with colorful street art that represents the whole summertime and LBC vibes. This tunnel took us back in time leading the way to the Hustle stage where our ears were filled with were with the sounds of Barbara Mason. Back through this tunnel festival goers headed toward the Marathon stage to enjoy Headliners like The Game, YG and of course the one and only Snoop Dogg.

I have to throw it out there, Amazing job done by everyone who put this together, great event! The walk between stages was not bad at all, plenty of food and drink vendors around, beer lines were quick and ran smoothly. And It ain’t summertime in the LBC without a cold beer, music and Daisy Dukes, which there was plenty of everywhere.

There were many dedicated performances and shout outs to fallen rappers like Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., Eazy-E, but Nipsey Hussle, who was also set to perform, was much of the focus from talent such as YG wearing Nipsey with angel wings on the back of his shirt and even our freestyle favorite Lisa Lisa, who’s entire crew wore the color blue in honor of the loved and well respected Hussle!

Once Upon a Time in the LBC was a legit hit!! If this is coming back next year don’t wait on getting your tickets, they will go fast.
